YOUTH MENTORING

Description

Forces AVENIR sees mentoring as a way of establishing ties between Forces AVENIR university students and Forces AVENIR high school students. These students all share a taste for attaining their full potential through various projects, in short by GETTING INVOLVED. Their commitment takes concrete form in projects relating to the sciences, education, the community, culture, the environment and other fields. We believe that, thanks to this one-to-one concept, this mutual exchange and voluntary participation, relationships can be established that favour personal fulfilment and contribute to the development of the two people involved.

Forces AVENIR is therefore committed to helping create mentor-mentee dyads that give participants at least one opportunity to exchange. The main objective is to allow as many people as possible to benefit from the experience and skills of Forces AVENIR university students.

Role of mentors

Mentors are Forces AVENIR university students. These individuals are motivated and willing to share their skills and knowledge with younger students with the aim of helping them to attain their personal goals.

Role of mentees

Mentees are Forces AVENIR high school students. These individuals are interested in exchanging ideas on various subjects as a means of helping them to gain a clearer perspective and attain their personal goals.

Goal for 2009: The creation of 10 dyads

Advantages

Both mentors and mentees will receive a fixed amount to cover expenses relating to the Youth Mentoring project.
