Nikolas Gobeil

A student committed to mutual aid through his role as confidant for his peers

If asked to resume in a nutshell Nikolas Gobeil’s type of commitment, the most befitting way would most definitely be MUTUAL AID. Just about everything the Secondary 5 student at Collège Jean de la Mennais gets involved in is aimed at lending a helping hand to others. Jessica Langlais

Une étudiante engagée à aider les autres, en élaborant un projet de tutorat individualisé

Jessica Langlais learned the meaning of the words sharing and solidarity at a very early age. With role models like her parents, who took in foster children, it didn’t take long for her to acquire a taste for helping others. Today she is in Secondary 5 at Collège Saint-Alphonse (CSA) and it’s now her turn to get involved. She gives of her time without counting the hours to such organizations as the Pairs Aidants committee, the Sainte-Anne hospital, the Relais pour la vie, the François-Plourde foundation, her high school parliament and the individualized tutoring project that she set up herself.

Jonathan Lasnier

A student committed to acting as a motivator, both in sports and academic life

If those around him were asked to give a brief description of Jonathan Lasnier, most people would probably sum him up in these few words: “A healthy mind in a healthy body.” In fact many would no doubt say that the Secondary 4 student at Collège Jean de la Mennais is the perfect example of a balance between academic performance, extracurricular involvement and athletic achievement. Among the activities he’s involved in, there’s the student council, the sports committee, the Entraide group, the flag-football team, track and field, cross-country running and the list goes on. “The more I get involved, the more my grades improve. Léonie Matteau

A student committed to getting the school administration to accept the idea of fair-trade campaigns
