From the time she entered university, Wendy Lai has kept herself intensely involved in many areas. First she registered in biochemistry, while simultaneously active in a variety of social projects, showing special commitment to feminist and anti-racist causes. She contributed to the development of Girlspace, which seeks to promote spontaneous exchanges with adolescent girls of diverse backgrounds. She has been a volunteer for Walksafe McGill, and coordinated the Women of Colour Collective for two years. After so many varied experiences, Wendy chose to re-direct her studies to medicine, which will allow her to commit herself all the more deeply to people in need.
