Festival MultiArt
Drawing its inspiration from the desire of young university students to find an original idea for financing the coordination of international training courses with the Enfants d’ici ou d’ailleurs organization, the Festival MultiArt is now at its fourth edition. Having inevitably evolved into an urban artistic event, organized by and for young people from the Island of Montréal, the Festival MultiArt has distinguished itself as a major event where young artists from all disciplines join forces with the goal of exhibiting their work, talent and innovation. Taking place over two days during the month of March of this year in an underprivileged Montréal neighbourhood where cultural events are somewhat rare, the 2004 edition brought together almost 120 artists who in turn attracted over a thousand young people between the ages of 20 and 30, both students and young professionals, Francophones and Anglophones, neophytes and experienced artists. The Festival, with an organizing committee made up exclusively of university students, enabled visitors to witness, through theatrical arts, dance, video, photography, painting and more, the new, nonconformist, multidisciplinary artistic culture.
