With a degree from the Department of Medicine at McGill University, Astrid Christoffersen-Deb is a source of inspiration for her peers: she has a passion for issues regarding human rights and focuses much attention on socio-anthropological realities and women’s rights. Ms. Christoffersen-Deb pursues her studies with excellence while maintaining a high standard in the practice and teaching of the violin and swimming which, as a volunteer, she has now integrated into her university involvement. Firm humanitarian convictions and her commitment to the United Nations Student Association of McGill University and the Student Association for Medical Aid have led her to the presidency of committees linked to the UN as well as to undertake internships in Quebec regions and in countries where medical services are more scarce with the aim of setting up mobile medical units. Thanks to a Rhodes Scholarship, she will nourish her desire for a better world by studying philosophy, economics and politics.
