Twenty future engineers from the École Polytechnique de Montréal are the driving force behind Poly-Monde, a comparative industrial analysis between Québec and, this year, Poland and the Czech Republic. The various industrial visits carried out as part of the project have, above all, paved the way for astounding career prospects for the future graduates. After 15 months of intensive preparations, these ambassadors of Québec industrial know-how spent three weeks studying global competition, market globalization and innovation in foreign economic cultures. In order to successfully carry out this 17th mission and meet their budget target set at over $100,000, the students obtained no less than $40,000 in funding from reputable firms such as Bell, Alcan, Velan and Pratt & Whitney Canada, thus providing undeniable proof of the project’s relevance and the interest it has aroused among Québec’s technological community. Thanks to the experience acquired abroad, the future engineers will be able to assist local businesses and enable them to benefit from the development of commercial trade with former Communist markets.
