Francis Gagnon found himself furiously juggling ideas, ideals, and mad-cap schedules practically from the moment he registered in Communications at the Université de Montréal. The following year he started a degree at Université Laval with a Major in Political Science. Francis devoted himself to getting various projects off the ground on campus. Among other things, he was involved in creating a newspaper, got a political debate group going, and set up a mentor system for new Political Science students. He was named Outstanding Male Person of the Year in the Political Science department in 1998, and was awarded the Jean-Charles-Bonenfant bursary in 1999. He is about to start a ten-month training period at the Quebec National Assembly, and a Master's in Political Science.
