Award recipients and finalists
Two year ago, students at the faculty of engineering at the University of Sherbrooke launched the “toy robot” contest. Since then, over 230 extraordinarily determined participants have entered the contest, and with good reason. The mission of the contest transcends a mere showcasing of expertise. The object is to build a toy robot intended for autistic children to help them to reach out to the outside world. The contest is unique in the world, because it addresses a human problem. The student founders felt that sick children should be the first to reap the beneficial effects of technology.
