Committed to Bringing Renewed Hope to the People of Uganda
In founding the Concordia Volunteer Abroad Program (CVAP) to help the population of Uganda, students brought renewed hope to many people. Since February 2007, more than 120 student volunteers have headed to the country to lend a helping hand, and their accomplishments are wide-ranging: the construction of family houses, an artistic performance promoting drug-abuse prevention, the computerization of records at a medical centre, an HIV\AIDS testing clinic, and the list goes on.

Committed to Improving Oral Health in Impoverished Communities
Founded in 2005, Dentraide has over 50 committed members and is the only international aid organization in Canada made up of students in dentistry. The Dentraide volunteers have visited numerous countries where they offered basic dental treatment and even went so far as to perform certain operations. In 2008, the students travelled to Honduras, Ecuador, Bolivia, Peru and Tanzania, and once again made a lasting difference in the lives of people who do not have access to basic dental care.

Committed to Giving an Entire Community Access to Health Care
From September to December 2007, five engineering students at ÉTS rolled up their sleeves so as to provide the small community of Savalou in Benin with a medical clinic and ecological latrines. Thanks to the new clinic, which has been described as an architectural gem, the villagers no longer have to walk several kilometres to obtain health care services. The fully functional clinic has proven to be a true blessing in a place where the lack of access to health services has given rise to a number of sanitary problems.
