Joël Monzée will soon have completed his doctoral studies in Neurological Sciences at the Université de Montréal. Besides his excellent academic results and the numerous scholarships that he has been awarded, including one from the Université de Montréal's Department of Higher Education, Joël Monzée has distinguished himself in important projects such as that for the improvement of financing for the health system and Quebec's drug insurance policy. He has thus written or co-written seven submissions or reports to the government and co-organized eleven scientific events over the past five years. He is notably the main co-author of a 195-page report entitled Recherche en santé: enjeux et perspective published in 2001. Joël has also distinguished himself as the spokesperson par excellence for student researchers in the health field. In fact, aware of the socio-economic instability of these researchers, he devoted himself for several years to representing them and to stimulating their sense of belonging to the health research profession.
